Nerd-out time! Looks amazing and a little bit more about the story is revealed. Can’t wait for this. I predict an awesome online viral campaign to come along with the movie. How could they not?

Just some classic footage of Biggie performing Party & Bullshit at the defunct Lyricist Lounge in NY. Not sure year this was though. If anyone knows, please pass the info. Definitely entertaining. After the jump, Biggie’s classic battle freestyle in Brooklyn when he was 17.
Slum Vill’s ElZhi goes off on this joint. The video compliments the song exactly. Black Milk produced the joint. Check here for more info. No more words, just listen and enjoy.
Danny Clinch was commissioned by Absolut Vodka to a documentary of Jay-Z leading up to his MSG performance in September 2009. From a cinematography perspective, it looks awesome. It will premiere on March 22nd on Facebook. Via RR
J.Period & “Uncle” Ralph McDaniels (Video Music Box, The Bridge) bring Biggie back to life with the “March 9: Video Remix Collection”—a collection of exclusive B.I.G. remixes set to classic videos, in honor of the 13th Anniversary of B.I.G.’s untimely passing. “Flava in Ya Ear (March 9 Video Remix)” marks the first release, a club-shattering blend of old and new that begs the question: where would hip hop be if B.I.G. were still alive!? Tune into jperiod.com/march9 to view more “March 9: Video Remixes”
I apologize in advance to anyone who may feel that timing of this is off but this was really interesting for me to hear and something I never knew. I didn’t know Biggie and E-40 had issues. Guess it all stemmed from him rating and dissing Spice 1 and E-40. To hear it from E-40’s mouth, listen here. I also apologize for the terrible music in the beginning of the video. On a separate note, RIP to Biggie. Celebrate March 9th.

I can admit that I have never really learned about Fela Kuti. Now in my early 30s, I am barely catching on to this man’s movement and music. Thank God for Questlove, he’s put me on to some much music beyond my realm via his blogs, twitter, and random interviews. Educate yourself by watching this and for anyone out there that knows about Fela, please comment with links and knowledge. Thanks! (Via NR).
Bay Area DJ, Tim Diesel, surprised us all with this eclectic and masterfully put-together of one of the most underrated MCs of all-time – Grand Puba. This lyricist has ghostwritten for many in the 90s – i.e. Pete Rock & CL Smooth as one example – and maintained his reputation for quick wit and flow. Tim runs through Brand Nubian joints, solo songs, and his cameos on other projects. Listen or download. JGILLA, you’re gonna love this! Tracklisting after the jump.
