Money Is To Burn 1961.

This is most gangster album cover I have ever seen. A new favorite past time of mine is to peruse LPCOVERLOVER.com, and look at daily postings of yesteryear’s most interesting covers. Often I can spot covers that have been, shall we say “remixed”, by contemporary artists today. When I spotted Money is to Burn, my first thoughts were that this could easily be a hip-hop album cover from current artist.

More photos from the Shepard Fairey Exhibition

Here are some shots I’ve seen from around the web from Shepard’s Exhibition in San Francisco.  More pics after the jump. Most are of me DJing and the crew hanging out.  Spotted at the homie Jeff’s spot and Fecalface.

Party for Change - San Francisco

Know The Ledge will be representing the OBEY posse hard this weekend.  Tonight, I’ll be DJing the opening reception and private afterparty for Shepard Fairey’s solo exhibition - “Duality for Humanity“.  With over 100 pieces, the public will have a chance to catch the exhibition from now until Oct. 4th.  Tomorrow night, the KTL crew will be at the Party for Change event at MILK in San Francisco.  With Shepard and Z-Trip on the decks, you know its going to a party.  I got booted by Platurn but whatever, I’m still climbing up the ladder.  Hope to see you on Sat Night!!! I get to sport my new Obama shirt.

Boogie shoots Righteous Kill

Boogie gives a dope shot with the Righteous Kill poster by Estevan and Cartoon.  I figured I should contribute some art stuff too.  I think this is going to be an art heavy week.  Spotted at Estevan’s blog.  BTW, I would like the playing cards, skate deck, and the Estevan shirts in Large in case you were wondering what to get me for my birthday.

Secret Barry McGee show in SF

Add “Lydia Fong” to the list of pseudonyms used by San Francisco artist Barry McGee. A solo exhibition A Moment for Reflection: new works by Lydia Fong opened stealthily at Ratio 3 on Fri, Sept. 5. Up until two week ago the Ratio 3 website had the show simply listed as ’something by somebody’.”
