Chuck D offers a very insightful and kinda all over the place address to Obama’s new presidency. He has been asked about Obama a lot during the elections b/c no one else knew who to turn to for hip-hop’s “intelligent” political voice – at least in the media’s eyes. (Note: there are some very smart, articulate, political conscious MCs out there. I know. You can tell me yours in the comments.) Its thought provoking to say the least and you gotta give it up, he hasn’t softened up as he hits near 50. Good stuff, Chuck, you’re still a hero of mine. (via Fatlace and hiphop.com)
In this tough past few weeks, this video gave me some hope and positivity for the future. I swear I got goose bumps and choked up watching this. So ready for tomorrow! Shout out to all my friends that made the trip to DC. Proud of you! If you are in the Bay tomorrow night, see you at supperclub where I will be spinning and celebrating. Thanks Ricky and LDOT for hitting me up to this. I’m looking out for the CDQ version. Words after the jump!
Would you have voted for Obama if this was his logo?
Sol Sender of Sender LLC was responsible for the Obama logo. After the jump were diff ideas proposed for this historic campaign and videos of the making of the logo. I clearly think they made the right choice in the logo. Learn your history people! Thanks Sirna for the link. Anthony, I thought you would enjoy this since you graduated with a Graphics Communications degree.
Time has released who there person of the year is, and suprise it is obama. I think that they don’t want to say it, but are saying it with this cover, That really shepard fairey (who designed the cover and the iconic image of obama) is the person of the year.

SO…its been over a week now since history was made. With a week to contemplate and marinate, its cool to see the spirit of the nation so high and thoughts/emotions collected. Here are some dope posts and sites that I’ve seen in the last 7 days that I think should be shared.
Messiah-Elect Obama opened up a FLICKR account, and uploaded the behind-the-scenes shots from election night. Nothing too exciting but interested just the same. I know I am still on an Obama high, but I promise I will go back to posting non-Obama related news soon.
Today I find it is hard for me to report something different than what is already being reported in the media. I suppose what is best is to just share with you my personal experience from last night, and then invite everyone to do the same. I want to know your election experience, feelings, perspective and anecdotes. Please post your stories via the comment thread, or email me and I will post the best stories separately.
Go vote, then come join us for election night party and celebration tonight. PARTY INFO.
If you live in a California, or an otherwise deep blue state, you should still vote to give Obama that political mandate and momentum to help him govern in his first term. Also there are many issues that need your attention on a local level, where some would argue your vote carries more weight and power then in a national election.

This day could not be understated. There are few times in our generation’s existence that we actually get to show and prove our impact. Today, we can break records for voter turnout. Today, we can show true mobilization of our social influence. Today, we can elect a man that could return the morale of a nation. Today, we can take the first steps to improving the future for our children. Today, we can change the world.
So, let’s equal this man’s hustle (i.e. his shoes) and get out there, wait in line and vote. And after you’re done, come back here. Then, watch the video after the jump and tell us that you voted by leaving a comment. As always, we would love to hear your comments on today. I’m talking to all 10 of you (yes, we’ve grown a lil’ in readership.)
