Q-Tip did a free show on my birthday at NY’s Knitting Factory to promote his new album the Renaissance. He also ran through some classics of Tribe. The video is well worth the wait at the late 6 minute mark. Just watch… Props to Mikey Fresh for the video!

There are a great number of DJs that I respect and are given due props: QBert, Mixmaster Mike, Roc Raida, Z-Trip, etc. But if there are 2 DJs that I look up b/c of their style and musical selection - Jazzy Jeff is one and Scratch is the other. Check him tear up the decks with Evill Dee (from Black Moon fame). From the always trustworthy source, GrandGood.
BONUS: Q-Tip performing Excursions and Check The Rhime at the same event. After the Jump.. Read the rest of this entry »

I was lame and didn’t contribute to Metal Lungie’s Beat Drop this month. Damn baby mama drama kept me distracted (just kidding, Lena) but I’ll be on the next one, I promise Buhizzle. Got some dope RZA selections and celebrity guest writers: Statik Selektah, Marco Polo, and 88 Keys. Stop by the Metal Lungies and leave your opinion.

Green Latern’s Sirius radio show is getting some great footage of MCs just going in (ll). Although, I can’t take Charles Hamilton’s arrogance sometimes, you gotta admit that he holds his own against Joe Budden. Some of the better freestyling, I’ve seen in awhile. Thanks to Snicka for the link.

Man love at its best. Please stop by Ciph & Rosenberg and congratulate them for getting over things. First parts are manly sentimental. Second half will make you hate Ebro and Rico. Topics of discussion - love of self, tardiness, wackness, and virtue of selfishness.
What I’ve been waiting for all week. I’m definitely going to play this at the OBEY parties this weekend in San Francisco. I jacked this from Nah Right, who in less than 2 hours had it over 5,000 downloads. Can’t deny its greatness.
Termanology is up there with Blu and Wale for best new emcees. This is his lead-off single with Bun B that was produced by Primo. No more words for this one, just stop, look, and listen. (C) Statik Selektah

I was in the mood for some classic Nas ish today after listening to his verse on Game’s Letter to the King. I scoured the nets a bit and stumbled on classics that I knew true Nas fans (like JGilla) would love. So after the jump, you’ll find some freestyles from the early millennium and rares that were originally only white label vinyls. If you want to get his whole discography and mixtapes, stop by DKH for more.
