Change The World – Nov. 4th

The day is here.

This day could not be understated.  There are few times in our generation’s existence that we actually get to show and prove our impact.  Today, we can break records for voter turnout.  Today, we can show true mobilization of our social influence.  Today, we can elect a man that could return the morale of a nation.  Today, we can take the first steps to improving the future for our children.  Today, we can change the world.

Like other friends on the internet, we are planning to take the day off to recognize this historic moment for our country and generation.  Matter of fact, our friends can meet us at the KTL party tonight to celebrate.  Or you can spend the day to reflect on what we’ve reported on our candidate, Barack Obama.

So, let’s equal this man’s hustle (i.e. his shoes) and get out there, wait in line and vote.  And after you’re done, come back here.  Then, watch the video after the jump and tell us that you voted by leaving a comment.  As always, we would love to hear your comments on today. I’m talking to all 10 of you (yes, we’ve grown a lil’ in readership.)

One voice can change the world.

I’ve been up since 5am. I was the FIRST person in line at my polling place. I haven’t felt so empowered in a long time. Today’s the day that the impossible shall cease to exist.

Hopefully it all comes to fruition and the nation can move in a new, brighter direction.

    YES WE CAN!!!

WOW, $port. impressive. I must admit I got up early but got hooked on CNN. Felt really good to make that mark on the ballot. And for my Cali homies, I did vote no on Prop 8.

The most amazing thing was seeing the name “Barack Obama” on the voting card in my booth. Admittedly, I just stood there for a little bit before making my selections, looking at the voting machine, remembering the moment, wishing I could take a snapshot of that ballot and my feelings all at once. I’ve never been so proud to pull a lever for a political candidate and never felt so much responsibility in my individual vote. I saw a lot of faces this morning in Harlem in the two hours I stood in line waiting my turn to vote. It was really powerful to think that all our faces mattered in a way that they haven’t mattered in a long time.

Word, right before I pushed the button for the Dream Team, I let out this joyous laugh lol…on my way to the polls I was singing Sam Cooke with tears in my eyes.

    I’m still in disbelief…

I voted and sent in my absentee ballot a few days ago be still it was a moving experience for me. I was sad not to be able to have the chance to actually go into a voting booth but still felt a sent of relief and hope when i put the postage stamp on the envelope and sent mine and my husbands ballots away.
Here’s hoping that he will be the President we all hope he will be.
    GO OBAMA!

RIP Madelyn Dunham… i sorry Barack Obama won’t have you here to share this moment with him.
