Lauryn Hill. Need I say anything else about the most talented and best female mc to pick up a microphone. She easily rocks the mic unlike all of these wanna be punks in today's society. Lauryn, I too have been waiting a long time for your comeback, and it would please me to know that you are trying to make a comeback with maybe the Fugees as a possibility. Whatever you decide either way, I'll always listen to your music, as well as soul, reggae, hip hop, swing, jazz, and along with The Score, witch today is still my favorite hip hop album of all time period. No q's asked! I like Rohan's music too, as well as his legendary father Bob. Keep up the good beats and sing your heart out girl. NO DIGGITY. YA MAN.

10yrs of MisEducation of Lauryn Hill
Time does fly by. I can appreciate some of the things that was said about Lauryn. But at the same time, I am shocked about her present state. I believe in the statement, Lauryn isn't dead. And if she was she need to be buried.
Recounting back, I too remember when the album came out. And who would have known then that her present state would be what it is today. Like the sister above, I was lead to scramble the internet and Googled what happened to Lauryn. A couple of comments came up & they all said(including Rohan Martley-the father of Lauryn's kids) that "it's not drugs." But it is something.
Anyway, it's apart of life, some start off high and through the path, hit rock bottom. We all have had or will have tribulation and challenging times. As long as God sit on the throne, there is a chance for Lauryn to come through. And all this nonsense of people talking as if they are signing her death sentence, instead we need to pray for her.
I personally believe God gave Lauryn a gift, set her apart and only God can bring her through.
Today, I had the opportunity to see on Youtube, Lauryn's Acceptance speech for an Essence Achievement Award presented by Patti LaBelle. It was simply moving, Lauryn was bearing tears, the audience was moved and LPatti was fighting her own tears, while Lauryn explained that the album was an opportunity that God brought forth. The Miseducation was a period of being in darkness and now Lauryn was in the midst of the light walking in awareness. She encourage the younger people that it was nothing wrong with embracing the Almighty God while fullfilling your purpose/dreams. That came from a chosen spirit.
Lauryn is not alone and wont be the last. Consider Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, dozens of actors and actresses. Need I say more. Obviously, the MisEducation of Lauryn Hill was impacting or we would not be after 10yrs, talking about it today.
May God Bless You, Direct Your Path and Shower You With Deliverance Lauryn.

WOW ten whole years ago. As a teenager, I recall the day my father bought me that CD and was like make sure you listen to this, and that I did. Lauryn Hill put her heart and soul into this album and I was able to recognize that at a young age. It was the type of symbolization that needs to not be explained, but simply understood. I love how her MISeducation educated, guided, loved, protected, and opened up a whole new mindset for both men and women, boys and girls, all over the world.

I love the entire CD, but EX FACTOR takes the cake for me. That song is so deep on so many levels, and as a teenager it made me cry, but not on some teeny-bop I just lost my first boyfriend tip, but on the level of I truly feel her pain. Till this very day that song brings tears to my eyes and puts me in a daze of deep contemplation of several things in relation to life, living, and understanding of things that go sour beyond our own mental control.

However, I will say its hard to read and agree with a comment that was made by Nobles in that interview: "Lauryn ain’t dead, Lauryn is very much alive. That woman’s alive." I agree to the extent that her music is well known and will never die for generations to come, but in a "current state," the Lauryn I know is dead. I had the chance to go to her concert when she came to the Bay Area in June of 2007 and that was very difficult as a fan. I felt like I watching someone hit rock bottom on every level. She fell, ran through songs, repeatedly made it seem as if the band was off: "turn up the mic," she was boo'd, half of the people at the concert left, and her choice of attire was odd. NOT that it wasn't Lauryn like, but at the same time it was a WTF moment. She gave some disclaimer speech mid-way that made no sense and even went as far as stating, "You can see the sobriety in my eyes." In which I had my Dad's binoculars looking into her eyes, thinking quite bluntly, "BITCH PLEASE." It was just truly sad. A lot of people stood in shock, disbelief, and disappointment. As my man Hov would say, "It was utterly ridiculous, how sick is this?" It brought tears to my eyes when she attempted to perform Ex-Factor because of the fact that I love the hell out of that song and she FUCKED it up, royally. Her voice was completely gone.

I understand as individuals we change, go through life struggles, enlightening periods of self-righteousness and self-fulfilling prophecies. However, Lauryn's, or Ms. Hill's, turnaround was so unexpected and strange. It's one thing to find yourself, but when it seriously appears as if you lost yourself during the voyage its hard to agree with the comment that Lauryn should show these ho's how to do it. I recall after the concert staying up in the wee hours of the night googling all things Lauryn to figure out what the hell happened to her…and to my surprise I found several articles from journalists or fans recounting the SAME thing I had just witnessed...and with that I truly felt like we "Lost One."

When I heard J. Sullivan's new song for the first time I got juiced because I honestly thought it was a new Lauryn cut, but then I thought back to her vocals at the concert and was like nahhhhh. J. Sullivan indeed has her voice and brings back great memories, but of course she is not Lauryn Hill, but I do respect her craft. I also respect the recognition of it being the 10 year Anniversary of the album release and I can say that in addition respect: "I just can’t do anything if I’m not inspired." We all have our own destinies and if she is truly living within her means and what she feels is set out for her than more power to her because a lot of people today can't even tell you what their plan is five minutes from now, one of those people being ME. But I thank her for the Miseducation and I hope that she continues to live her life within her own means of happiness whether that be spiritually, mentally, or musically.

man, I knew that Rolling Stone did the article but never read it. I can't believe its been 10 years. I remember when my Mom first bought that CD. Then and now, To Zion is one of the only songs that EVER gives me chills. Raw Emotion, thats what most music is lacking these days.
