Public Enemy - Pitchfork Documentary

Public Enemy deserves its own 20-page post from me to give them the due justice and credit that I feel they’ve had on my life and hip-hop generally. But I will take some time to work on that. Right now, I’ll just hit you with these videos. Up there with Wu-Tang and Run-DMC, one could say these three groups are the most influential groups in hip-hop ever. The documentary from Pitchfork.tv describes the music production of Public Enemy with Hank Shocklee and Chuck D giving most of the commentary on the Public Enemy sound. Its an awesome thing to hear hip-hop heads speak academically of the work and research that goes into the music. Thanks to Pipomixes for putting me onto this. Part II and III are after the jump. By the way, DFLO, where is my OBEY X PE jacket and t-shirt? I told you I would pay for it.

I had the GREAT pleasure to see PE @ Rock The Bells last year…HOTNESS!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfB91ZRyW8U)
It was kinda funny to hear the crowd say “Flaaaavor Flaaaaaav” in reference to the hideous, yet funny moments frm his VH1 show (LOL) but overall the vibe was lovely. I ain’t gone lie…I kinda sorta forgot about PE too up until RTB, but they are indeed legends.
    FIGHT THE POWER!
