#6 – #10

It sounds like everyone has Jay, Nas, Biggie, Pac, and Rakim in their top 5 MCs lists. And its kinda a given that we will debate their order. So, I have decided to just list my #6 – #10 and make the conversation more interesting. Here they are, and in this order:

bdk

#6. Big Daddy Kane – the predecessor to Jay’s style and the flow is untouchable.

chuckd

#7. Chuck D. – The amount of content in his lyrics and the courage to speak his mind has only been seen in recent days with Rage and Immortal.

blackthought

#8. Black Thought – Currently, the most versatile MC in the game. The fact that he can do his own flow and mimic Kane and Kool G is just amazing. Check Game Theory if you do not know what I am talking about.

slickrick

#9. Slick Rick – The original storyteller whose lyrics are timeless. Please check out his slept-on 2nd album, The Ruler’s Back. Moses and Mistake of a Woman in Love with Other Men are classics.

ghost

#10. Ghostface – His spit game has improved to where we can’t even understand what he is talking about anymore and now we need him explain his lyrics in interviews to just get it. Plus, the showmanship is 2nd to none.

How are you putting Ricky D down in 9th.. Greatest storyteller hip-hop will ever see and thats all it is. plus i wonder, why are you specifically impressed with ghost, saying he’s on another level and shit when wu-tang, excluding maybe Method Man, practically got that same uncommon mumbojumbo(not hating) type lyrics . I would’ve probably put INS before Ghost, for the simple reason that the rebel really flips it any way possible and always keeps it flowin perfect, plus he’s on the same level lyrically. GFK’s got too much Rakim in his lyrics and beats, ”How can I move the crowd, first of all, ain’t no mistakes allowed. Here’s the instruction, put it together, it’s simple ain’t it? well quite clever” -Ghost Deini but most importantly, Move The Crowd by Rakim And Eric.B. he even tries to look like him, does it damn well. anyways I don’t know if you do put Jay-z in that top 5 but yo havn’t you realised he got some of his flow offa Big L. like the best part of Jay-Z was the Big L part. but whatever thats just what I think. That top 5 is way overrated.
