Lil’ Wayne - Mr. Carter (feat. Jay-Z)

For the record, I am not a Lil’ Wayne stan. I do think his lyrics and actions are entertaining. I think he has a drug dependency and it is negatively affecting his delivery more and more. He’s like the Michael Bay of hip-hop: makes impressive moments to remember, the content is not deep and easily digestible to the masses, and will never make a classic. That being said, I do like this Mr. Carter joint. Just Blaze represents with the beat and Jay-Z may have delivered one of the most layered, metaphorical verses in the last 3 albums. I completely cosign what David at TSS has to say about the song. Unfortunately, Lil’ Wayne misses a completely golden opportunity to emulate Jay’s lines. But its definitely worth a listen…
