Questlove – Sample Montage Mix

Found a gem tonight! A mix Questlove did on UK’s Radio 1 from 2005.  Picked it up from DJ Soul. If you’ve heard Questo DJ, you know he proves his music knowledge and goes through a million genres while still rocking the crowd.  Most time he’ll play the sample, make the crowd guess, then play the hip-hop song.  For example, Ray Charles’ “I Got A Woman” to Kanye’s “Golddigger”. White kids love it.  Club kids don’t know what to do. Hip-Hop nerds just nod their heads  in approval.  But this mix, is just the samples – so its n0t for the faint of heart and weak-minded when it comes to hip-hop.  He goes through a Kanye samples, Wu samples, Jay-Z samples, Dre samples and a billion hip-hop underground hits. It would never work in a club but this mix is perfect for the headphones or ride.
