Raaaaaaaaandy – Aaaaaaaangry

Aziz dropped this gem for his peoples.  Hilarious shout outs.  His shout outs to Drake and Eminem are crazy.  I’ve been riding for Aziz (pause) since Human Giant and its cool to see him finally blowing up.

Bobo meets Rhettmatic – Mixtape

Along with Keys N Krates, the Bobo meets Rhettmatic show is one that pioneers live instrumentation and hip-hip to places where audiences have not imagined. With veteran percussionist from Cypress Hill and legendary DJ from the Beat Junkies, Bobo and Rhett take soul, house, hip-hop to some great levels of imagination. If you’ve been lucky enough to see them live, you know what I am talking about. They’ve now put together an album for your enjoyment. Go to their website, www.bobomeetsrhettmatic.com, to get it. Def worth it, if just for the intro. Trackilisting after the jump.

Jay-Z speaks on 45 King & Hard Knock Life

Taken from a Swedish? documentary, Jay-Z and the 45 King speak about the creation of “Hard Knock Life”. There’s a little cameo by Kid Capri as well. This was my first time ever seeing 45 King talk and spin in real life. Very cool interview. In related Jay-Z news, there is a vid of Jay and Bun B doing “Big Pimpin” on his BP3 tour stop in Houston. Pretty Cool. Via NR.

J. Dilla Stussy Documentary (Part 2)

Part 2 of Stussy’s Dilla Documentary. This part focuses a lot on Dilla’s move to LA and how it changed his sound. I definitely could empathize when Houseshoes mentions that floods make you want to start over and how Detroit sucks the life out of you. Cool thing I learned was the generational connections of musicians from Detroit to LA over the decades. I’ll post Part 3 soon.

DJ Reflex & A-Trak – Live set

My homegirl Candace sent this over to me yesterday. I got to meet Reflex at Dance Right before and he’s a real cool dude. He basically explains his role in breaking artists at Power 106 and we see A-Trak scratch it up. Below is the soundcloud of their set. I was really happy to hear him play “I’ll Get You” (remix) by Classixx – a great song that I’ve been putting into my sets recently.

TSS – Interview with Avon Barksdale

Khalid of The Smoking Section got a chance to sit down with the real Avon Barksdale who described his portrayal on The Wire.  As expected, this is “his” side of the story.  I think the part where they talk about rappers taking famous druglords name is pretty comical.  Check the interview after the jump.  Props to TSS crew for this one.

Luscious Liz – Debuting NFL Jerseys for Ladies

My LA hometown crush, Luscious Liz was asked to model for the line of NFL’s lady jerseys.  She herself is an avid football and baseball fan.  Unfortunately, she roots for lame teams – the 49ers and the Angels.  I’ll have to stick to Alyssa Milano when it comes to sports.  If you wanna see her rock a SD, SF, Denver, KC or NE jersey – click here.  By the way, JaMarcus Russell is the Shyne of the NFL.  Ayoooo!
