The closer we get to Kanye’s release date, the more the leaks are coming. I can’t say that I’ve been impressed with any of the leaks beyond “Love Lockdown” and this one with Young Jeezy. But I do respect the man for putting his true heartbreak and issues into the music. Not many artists (esp within hip-hop) can brag that they put their heart on a protrack file 100% of the time. I wasn’t invited to the conference call (I would like to - hint, hint to anyone reading) but Kanye recently told everyone where this album came from. Full transcript after the jump. Thanks to TSS and Snicka for the info/links! I think after this post I am giving this the “Nas Untitled” treatment and not posting any more Kanye until his album drops.
SO…its been over a week now since history was made. With a week to contemplate and marinate, its cool to see the spirit of the nation so high and thoughts/emotions collected. Here are some dope posts and sites that I’ve seen in the last 7 days that I think should be shared.
I am back on my grind here with KTL after taking a few days off to DJ in LA. With a phenomenal week taking place with the Obama election and spirit of hope, I’m feeling good and inspired. In the mode of inspiration, I wanted to post 3 great Jay-Z related items. One is the CDQ version of Jay’s tribute song to Obama called “History”. It will be included on the Blueprint 3 (btw which will be out to 2009 says Kanye) along with “Jockin’ Jay-Z” and “Swagger Like Us (pt 1 and 2)”. Next, the video above is a BBC documentary of Jay’s early career to his performance at Glastonbury. Dope interviews but be warned - its an hour long. Lastly, the megadons at TSS posted Jay’s Library of a Legend. With our GOD MC post and that, your Jigga library should be covered.
Messiah-Elect Obama opened up a FLICKR account, and uploaded the behind-the-scenes shots from election night. Nothing too exciting but interested just the same. I know I am still on an Obama high, but I promise I will go back to posting non-Obama related news soon.
Today I find it is hard for me to report something different than what is already being reported in the media. I suppose what is best is to just share with you my personal experience from last night, and then invite everyone to do the same. I want to know your election experience, feelings, perspective and anecdotes. Please post your stories via the comment thread, or email me and I will post the best stories separately.
I’ll be down in LA for the weekend for work but got a DJ gig in Santa Ana for OBEY’s Friday night at the Crosby. Small place but filled with good times. Playing a west coast set for my peeps. its been awhile since I’ve played a set of strictly gangsta ish.
No cover or dress code but sure it will be packed. More info here. Hope to see some of the KTL fam there!

Go vote, then come join us for election night party and celebration tonight. PARTY INFO.
If you live in a California, or an otherwise deep blue state, you should still vote to give Obama that political mandate and momentum to help him govern in his first term. Also there are many issues that need your attention on a local level, where some would argue your vote carries more weight and power then in a national election.
