The Bird is the Word

The Bird is the Word

My man bird has been doing it up lately, hes got mad interviews all over the interwebs, you can buy his birds at various locations around town like Kicks.

Around Los Angeles mainly, “Bird” has been throwing up his styrofoam birds with a lock attached to them up at telephone wires, mainly at intersections.

I like bird and what he does, it probably means nothing, but it could very well mean something. Has dogtownink.com figured out what it all means? Is he just trying to “flip us off?”

Have you seen these around town? Do you like them or hate them? What do you think he is trying to say? Post responses in the comments below.

I am glad someone wrote about this. I was asking my brother about these other day b/c they are in SF too. I just thought it was cool b/c it challenges people of perception of vandalism. A graf tag and throwing a bird on a line are essentially the same illegal act but one can be allowed b/c of its perceived “cuteness” or “artistic statement”. causes a good discussion when you see them at stop light. good post!

nice to know the wires are humming about brown and his berds. and thanks for posting about my article on him. very cool and very appreciated. can i ask you to look at the link to dogtownink.com you inserted above and and the “n” in dogtown? right now, the address is missing it and is therefore not connecting to dogtownink. thanks and keep up the good werk!
