My homegirl Candace sent this over to me yesterday. I got to meet Reflex at Dance Right before and he’s a real cool dude. He basically explains his role in breaking artists at Power 106 and we see A-Trak scratch it up. Below is the soundcloud of their set. I was really happy to hear him play “I’ll Get You” (remix) by Classixx – a great song that I’ve been putting into my sets recently.

A few weeks ago, an awesome event was held to honor Roc Raida. Crazy number of DJs came out to support – as you know they would bc DJs have love for each other like that. Props to GG for the footage. Just amazing and inspiring. Part 2 of the vid is after the jump. (The Rob Swift routine at the end of Part 2 is mind blowing!) Here’s the list of all the DJs cutting up “Rock The Bells”.:
DJ Craze
DJ A-Trak
DJ Scratch
Boogie Blind
DJ Cash Money
Total Eclipse
DJ Supreme
Precision
Sean C
Mista Sinista
and DJ Rob Swift
Being a hip-hop DJ who has an open mind (most of the time) and friends who love other types of music than hip-hop, you learn to appreciate other genres. In the past few years, I have seen both my friends and fellow DJs, venture over to the dark side of Electro/Pop/House/Dance music. After DJing at Dance Right a few times, I tried to avoid but on my recent tour with Keys N Krates, Jr-Flo & Matisse gave me a new appreciation for this music. So as much as I am hater of some of the people in this video (i.e Aoki & LMFAO), I am interested to watch this documentary. Feel free to share your thoughts. Jacked from the awesome guys at Space Ballin.

All DJs have been in a similar situation. Maybe not to the extent of 1,000,000 viewers and a world stage but we’ve been there. Needles falling apart, turntable shorting, drunk girls spilling thier drinks on your deck or computer. But, any good DJ will tell ya – YOU DON’T QUIT! You figure out a way and try to make sure no one notices. Props to A-TRak for talking about this. Another gem from 247HH.

A-Trak enters into his “Hova Diaries” some cool experiences with collaborating with Jigga and ?uesto. Funny comments on his DJ Battle Days and Biggie’s outfit on Vol. 1. If you don’t know what we are talking about, click here. A-trak’s words after the jump….
A-Trak says “Yes” to Nike and “Yes and No” to Jigga.
Phone rings – Jay asks A-Trak to be his DJ on Tour. He says “No, thanks.” (Every DJ in the world thinks he’s insane.) Jay-Z says, “Will you help out with the musical direction?”. A-trak replies with “what else do I got going on?”. (Every DJ in the world now hates him with an erection.) See his blog post for the details after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
