Alicia Keys performs her awesome, stripped-down version of “Empire State of Mind” from her recently released album. Being that she is on the Colbert Show, don’t expect the typical “performance”. I can’t believe she didn’t crack up. Just watch…

I got word of this last night and haven’t stopped playing it. This is like my “Exhibit C” of soul/R&B. Sade fools you with the deepness of her voice, make you think that she’s switched her style up but after a few lines in, she’s hypnotized you like she always does. While Alicia’s new song w/ Drake is a keeper, this song makes you understand that despite Alicia’s talent and star power over other sings, she still has a lot to learn. 2010 is gonna be a great year for music, just based on the fact that Sade is coming out in Feb.
Jay’s classic anthem from Blueprint 3. A song of inspiration and awesome imagery. Makes me wanna be a better person. Sad that NY is playing out and you guys are gonna end up hating it in 3 months. I’ll keep playing it on the West Coast for you.

I not sure how the KTL fans will react but I wanted to put Alicia out there for the new alba. I mean, she’s got everything Alba has except when it comes to personality, they are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Jessica is cute, goofy, and has a SoCal attitude about things. Alicia is straight NY and thinks she’s the sh!t about everything. More pics here from a recent concert in Europe. Post any good links and comments when you get a chance.

First, let me give credit where credit is due. DJ01 of ML fame posted this thread earlier and I happened to stumble upon earlier this afternoon when I took a sick day. A great find! How great? That I’ve been reading it for 3 hours now. Basically, earlier this month Questo invites the Okayplayer heads to post any celebrity’s name and he’ll explain his brush of fame with them. Imagine the Fat Joe on Juan Epstein episode times a hundred thousand trillion. After the jump are my faves. Here is the link for the whole thread. I warn you now, it will take up your evening or afternoon like the time you popped in Malcolm X and realized how late it was when it ended.
