Dallas Penn – Sneaker Pimps

Internets! Internets! Pay attention to DPTV while at Sneaker Pimps in NY. Clipse and Big Boi perform. Speaking of shoes, I started to wait in line for the Cartoon/Livestrong AF1s on Sat morning. Started at 3:30am. Freekin’ cold! They had 20 pairs. Guess who was #21? I hate f*ckin’ cutters and only 2 of us were brave enough to speak up. Obviously, I lost the battle.

Outskirts: The Unofficial Lost Outkast Remixes

outkast

This is a great mixtape that came out a few years ago – if my memory serves me correct. Anyways, Floyd The Locsmif and DJ Jamad bust out some great blends on this mixtape. I’ve even used a couple in my sets here and there. If you are a lover of hip-hop but more specifically, an Outkast head ,you will love this! My fav is the Ludacris blend. Thanks to DU for the link. Tracklisting after the jump.

Rick Ross – Magnificent (remix) *** UPDATED***

I heard this was in the mix for awhile. It was cool to see Special Ed in the “Magnificent” video, now he’s on the remix with Big Boi, too! His flow is deeper and slower (no fish sticks) but sounds right on the track. Glad to see Ed back since Crooklyn Dodgers days. I’ve been a Special Ed fan since Day 1. “I Got It Made” is in my all-time top 3 songs ever. There are talks that there is a larger, all-star version that is in the making and this is just a teaser. Big Boi talks about his fake Jordans

Big Boi addresses his recent spotting at a Sneaker Pimps show where he was wearing fake Jordans. He didn’t know and in this video, he admits to that fact. As a sneakerhead, I constantly hate on fake Jordans. I think its just derives from the fact that I got duped on eBay for $400 on some Jordan 4s 6 years ago and haven’t let go of that anger. Big Boi is like most sneaker heads where we didn’t start buying shoes until we actually had a salary. And by that time, we are making up for lost time. Glad he admitted his naivety and just said, “move on”. Thanks to Gotty & Co. for the inspiration to post this.

Big Boi Interview at the Smoking Section

The homie TC from the Smoking Section, who is a KTL reader and sometimes commenter, got the dope opportunity to interview Sir Lucious himself. Great ground was covered in the interview – including the debate between Aquemini and ATLiens as the better album. Read the full interview after the jump and then go congratulate him at TSS.

Odd News to check out…

Just some things to distract you today:

* LL Cool J is going to be on Sesame Street in August. Who really believes he’s “street” after this? 50 must be pissed that LL’s publicist let him do this. (MTV)

* Diddy says Cassie’s next album is better! The first wasn’t bad but her performances def needed work. Getting a cameo in “Roc Boys” and “Stronger” def kept her on the map. Anyone else agree? (Billboard)

* Prodigy is locked up but not his mind. Dude is hilarious! He has made observations/revelations that people have been saying since the 80’s. Delusional and funny. Since he is now reading books, I think he almost at the social awareness of a 10 year old. (Vibe)

* Koch Records is reusing beats on albums and didn’t think people would notice. Stop being stupid, stupid. (HHDX)

* Worst Idea I heard today: Def Jam (Jermaine Dupri) agreed to make a Record Label with the man-spray TAG. Best Idea I heard today: Big Boi brings some hip-hop to the elitist Ballet crowd.
