Jay-Z - Brooklyn Go Hard (Green Lantern Remix)

jay-z

Green Lantern takes us back to the Eastpak/North Face days with this remix for “BGH”. Classic sample, Green Lantern is making a name for himself for giving these new songs an old spirit by using classic hip-hop riffs (see Solange’s “Fuck the Industry Remix”.) Smif N Wessun’s “Sound Bwoy Bureill” shall never be forgotten. But, unfortunately, I still haven’t memorized Jay’s second verse. I’m trying.

A-Trak gets into bed with Nike and Jigga

A-Trak says “Yes” to Nike and “Yes and No” to Jigga.

Phone rings - Jay asks A-Trak to be his DJ on Tour. He says “No, thanks.” (Every DJ in the world thinks he’s insane.) Jay-Z says, “Will you help out with the musical direction?”. A-trak replies with “what else do I got going on?”. (Every DJ in the world now hates him with an erection.) See his blog post for the details after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

I hate kids…

This was just simply “sh!t in your pants” type of viewing. I feel embarrassed that these kids are so good at scratching and I only figured it out years ago. But I bet that girl can’t drive a car to her gig or start a website to show off her hip-hop knowingness. So HA! Just another inevitable reason why women will rule our world. Post any other videos of phenom kids in our comments. Big-ups to DJ AA for the link.

Travis Barker is alright

Travis Barker, DJ AM, Too Short

I don’t listen to Blink 182, or +44, but I know that they exist. I have watched a few episodes of meet the barkers and I knew who Travis Barker was. I have heard DJ AM spin a few times and he’s okey, nothing special. I had went to a party about a year ago, it was for whothefuckcares, and I was about to leave when Travis Barker started to drum. No big deal, whatever, drummers blah, but then DJ AM came out and started to DJ to Travis Barkers drumming. They are not the first people to do this together, but it sounded real awesome and I enjoyed it. I hear that they do it all the time now, I haven’t caught a second performance, I wish I can so I can say that I hate them. But until then, the duo of Travis Barker and DJ AM are alright.

Oh yeah later on in that show, Too Short came out and rapped. Then it was ill.

SERATO X AF1s PACK

nikeseratoairforce1pack

Shout out to Individual Sole for getting the info on this one. Its a tight combo. Great to brag to say you have it but I am not sure that is the same color white that will match my sunglasses. So, I prefer the black box b/c it reminds me of Darth Vader and matches my Black Jordan 4’s. I am just mad b/c I am not one of those “leading DJs around the world” that didn’t have to pay for the pack.

To make you a better DJ, here are some easter eggs.

CLASSIC; the very first DJ band

This is a classic T.V. moment featuring DJ Q-bert, Mixmaster Mike, Apollo and more. Can we bring back the huge beanies please! Those were sick.
