DJ Franchise – Mix Megapost

little temple 018

Hello to another weekend!  If you’re in SoCal, please check out Keys N Krates in LA or SD. If you happen to be in the Bay, I would love you as my guest tonight at Paradiso (OAK) or tomorrow at Sugar (SF).  Soundcloud is giving me issues with my storage limit.  So, while I fix that I wanted to consolidate and repost my top 6 mixes that I’ve uploaded and you’ve played/downloaded.  Thanks for all the support, thus far and a new mix will be up next week! Remember, these are for you and your peoples. Feel free to download them by clicking on the “Down” arrow in the box.

“I’m Good and Ready Mix” – one of my personal favs that I just went in one night to Sugar and decided to play quality hip-hop, regardless of what the crowd thought.  The result? You tell me!

“90’s R&B mix” – This mix has been downloaded the more than any of my mixes at Soundcloud. I was surprised that KTL readers loved 90’s R&B as much as I do.  I always try to sneak in a classic in every mix.

“Run This Town mix” – This mix was hated on at first but I think when people heard the transition into Slaughterhouse, they were willing to listen beyond the first song.  Almost everybody liked the mix.  Still haven’t convinced my brother on this one.

“Grown Folks mix” – Just a little taste on the music I grew up to and what Thursday nights in Oakland feel like. This should be listened to more often.

“Ready for the Club mix” – If you are like me, you need some theme music while you getting ready or driving to the club. This is a simple mix to achieve that goal.

“True School Mix” – An oldie but goodie.  Just in case you missed it last week. The name explains it all!

DJ Franchise – The True School Mix

little temple 018

Here is a mix that I made years ago, one of my first ever. Basically, I wanted to play most of my favorite songs growing up. Most were an anthem for me at one point in my life. Some of you have this mix from CDs, I’ve given out or if you knew me in my LA days. But for the few of you that are new to Know The Ledge, it’s a world premiere to you! Like always, feel free to pass it along to friends or download it to your desktop via the “down” arrow button. With w-fi access permitting, I will stream my set live from Sugar in San Francisco from 10pm to 2am PST. Come back here to check it out.

DJ Franchise – What’s Next? Mix

little temple 018

Here’s a mix a several years back that reminded me of my days in high school and college, walking to class with my headphones on. Hope you find yourself surprised at the potential day dreaming and headnodding you could have to this mix.  A little on the shorter side but why ruin a good thing? Enjoy!

DJ Franchise – I’m Good & Ready mix

little temple 018

First, thank you for all the literally hundreds of people that have downloaded my precious little mixes. I DJ for the love of it and to give you all a genuine good time listening to what I think is good music. The last few mixes have kinda been R&B/soul themed so today I wanted to take you back to my roots and essence – quality hip-hop. This mix was actually a live mix recorded from set in San Francisco last week. It was 11pm and was like “why not play some real ish for the crowd?”, instead of a typical dance/top 40 mix like others would play. People loved it and we had fun. So enjoy and feel free to pass it along. (You guys do know you can download all these mixes, right? Just click on the “Down” arrow on the right. FYI. )

Hey there! I wanted to give you some good listening music for your weekend. If you have an older sibling, you’ll look pretty cool if you play this in your ride or on the computer. I think I deserve just a little of props for that first song. As always, all the mixes are downloadable. Just click on the “Down Arrow” on the right side of the box. Thanks, again for the support!

DJ Franchise – Run This Town Mix (roughdraft)

little temple 018

So I am working on putting more mixes up for the site.  People keep asking so I’ll oblige our 22 readers.  But… to put a lil twist on things.  I’ll be posting my roughdraft mixes, not finished sets. I’ll save those for the shows.  So what you’ll hear are my recorded practice sessions.  My finished mixes will be tracked and given a little more of a better presentation.  So here we go!
