DJ Muggs & Estevan Oriol – Gumball 3000

11 years in the making and I am barely catching with this Gumball 3000 craze. Sounds like fun but I don’t have the celebrity or the time (or money) to do it. But I don’t mind watching these two document their expolits on the road. With the event wrapping up last week, it was cool to see what they were able to get on film. I think my favorite part is Muggs saying that he is just spreading the culture of LA internationally. My thoughts exaclty and one of my life goals as well! Via EO. Second video after the jump.

Blink 182 – Estevan Oriol Photoshoot

Estevan was enlisted to do the reunion photoshoot for Blink-182. I am the only hip-hop excited for this reunion. Sure they make great pop-punk music but they got talent. Take a CD of theirs over Souja Boy or Lil’ Boosie anyday. Let’s get ready for summer 2009.

By Nick Hanekom at FormatMag.com.

“With February just around the corner, we thought it important to mention thatEstevan Oriol will soon be presenting a photographic retrospective in ‘This is Los Angeles.’ The exhibition, hosted by SURU, opens on February 1st 2009 with a SURU x Oriol collaborative T-shirt being showcased alongside the exhibit. So if you’re anywhere close to LA next month, don’t miss the opportunity to take in the work of this extremely talented urban photographer.”

Estevan Oriol – Ruby Hornet Interview Pt. 2

eo11108mts

Here is the rest of the Estevan Oriol interview with Ruby Hornet.  (We posted Part 1 earlier.) He mentions that he is broke just like us, never turns down a fan, how he shoots too many dudes, and how he thinks Everlast is more talented than your moms (AYYOOOO!!!).  I’ve tried to stop by Last Laugh twice last time I was in LA but both times they were closed.  One day, One day…I’ll get those LA DJ slipmats.

Full Interview after the jump…

Estevan Oriol – Ruby Hornet Interview Pt. 1

eo11108mts

In my opinion the best photographer in America, Estevan took a moment to sit down with Ruby Hornet to talk about how he got started in the photography game, his encounters with De Niro, and why he’s better than most photographers out there today.  AMART, I think you’ll appreciate his honest approach to his shots and photography jargon.  There are even mentions of Ricky Powell and Terry Richardson.  Lesson readers should learn after reading the interview, never fire a gun sideways.  This is Part 1.  We’ll post Part 2 later.  Full interview after the jump…
