Most KTL family don’t know who “Dirty Money” is. Basically, Diddy started a group with himself, Dawn from Danity Kane, and unknown chick #1. They have been my most recent guilty pleasure. Their “Love Come Down” has me doing Diddy dances in the DJ Booths on Sat Night. This song won me over w/ the Jay-Z sample and Biggie verse. Since I am not the only one digging them (What up, KHAL!), I thought I would post some of the remixes out. You’ll be surprised. Props to NR for these joints.
Just got done watching the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors. Although, I still think its funny that just a few years back VH1 went on camera saying that they would never allow hip-hop in their format or programming, it now has one of the few quality hip-hop programs on-air (BET’s shows are disgraceful.) Here are some of my highlights from the night:
* Wild Style given due props and Fab 5 looking fly as he ever was. No Chuck & Larry.
* T.I. representing the LA uniform and the crisp Dodgers hat.
* T-Pain finally exposing himself for the wack-ass individual that he is. Black Britney.
* Nick Cannon performing a tribute to Whodini. (sike!)
* Snoop showing that he doesn’t have to move and still be a better performer than the rest of the dudes on stage.
* Busta amping that crowd to Wu-Tang levels with his Scenario verse.
* Tribe was just dope at the end. Check the clip.
Phife didn’t look as healthy but, I guess, he is in better shape than he used to be. Allhiphop.com has a good article on it. And Lupe’s mess-up wasn’t as big as people are playing out to be. I think he put himself on blast and caused more damage than he needed to. I do recommend he stops procrastinating and pick-up Midnight Marauders. Stupid kids.
