This is a great mixtape that came out a few years ago – if my memory serves me correct. Anyways, Floyd The Locsmif and DJ Jamad bust out some great blends on this mixtape. I’ve even used a couple in my sets here and there. If you are a lover of hip-hop but more specifically, an Outkast head ,you will love this! My fav is the Ludacris blend. Thanks to DU for the link. Tracklisting after the jump.
The homies at Metal Lungies just released another installment of their Beat Drop series. I was invited to contribute but wasn’t too confident I could talk about 5 greats songs I loved from Organized Noize. After reading the list of songs that were discussed, MAN! I was wrong! Can’t believe I slept on an opportunity to talk about “Watch for the hook”. Go to Metal Lungies, support good music/blogs and download some stuff for your iPod while you;re at it.
Big Boi addresses his recent spotting at a Sneaker Pimps show where he was wearing fake Jordans. He didn’t know and in this video, he admits to that fact. As a sneakerhead, I constantly hate on fake Jordans. I think its just derives from the fact that I got duped on eBay for $400 on some Jordan 4s 6 years ago and haven’t let go of that anger. Big Boi is like most sneaker heads where we didn’t start buying shoes until we actually had a salary. And by that time, we are making up for lost time. Glad he admitted his naivety and just said, “move on”. Thanks to Gotty & Co. for the inspiration to post this.

Skillz starts a new video series called Hip-Hop Confessions. The title pretty much says it all. He’s just bringing some much needed honesty to the game, especially us fans of the culture and music. Instead of Keep It Real, let’s Keep It Honest – word to JGilla. Its refreshing and emapthetic to hear these guys admit the things they have.
Long gone are the days where the boys and I would wait at midnight at Tower Records to buy albums such as Murder was the Case and Tical. Now, I am decently surprised when I get a link to an album I want in my inbox. The test now is to be patient and anti-hedonistic enough to hold off to the release date to download an album. On 9.29.98, I had one of my biggest days in hip-hop collecting, where 5 dope albums were released. Still on a college budget, I planned for a whole month how to afford the near $100 in CDs. I was going to buy. Contra & the TSS crew were first to recognize this day (thanks for the pic) but Complex just put up a cool write-up with pics. Stop by both places and come back to leave a comment or two with us.

The homie TC from the Smoking Section, who is a KTL reader and sometimes commenter, got the dope opportunity to interview Sir Lucious himself. Great ground was covered in the interview – including the debate between Aquemini and ATLiens as the better album. Read the full interview after the jump and then go congratulate him at TSS.
Big Boi drops his new album, Sir Luscious Leftfoot, later this year. And to peak your interest, here is the first single – “Royal Flush”. Just call it “Skew It on the Barbie” Part 2. I mean that in a good way. Like they bringin’ ‘98 back.
Welcome to one of my new fav lines, Buddhapparel. These homies got a look that I feel transcends the standard streetwear catchy logos and really makes detailed statements with their design. Most peeps know them from the Gangsta Transformer shirts they dropped earlier this year. I am proud to co-sign these guys. Those that came out to the Scratch show in San Francisco this month, you saw me sporting the shirt above. (BTW, loving the gold foil touch, Tony!) If you were one of the lucky ones to get their Comic Catalog, you better frame that sh!t and erase the fingerprints.
New line drops at selected retail and online stores – just in time for the Holidays! Check the site for where to go.
