White Privilege - Tim White

The homegirl Vee sent this to me yesterday and I found it to be a good read. I can’t say I agree with every point of Tim White’s stance and I have a growing irritation that people even compare Barack & Palin like they are on the same plane, but with that being said its worth a read/sharing with all of you. My jury is still out on Tim White and how a white man can be called the “the most prominent anti-racist writers and activists in the U.S.” That in itself is white privilege at work but that’s another discussion.

The article is like the movie Crash - its superficial and entertaining, wonderfully presented, brings up good points (some obvious to people of color), and will get people talking about racial topics that they might not otherwise. In the end, its a discussion piece but not a solution. Kinda like hip-hop. Full article after the jump.

Straight Bangin’ gave us a dope write up on it.

***Update: John Stewart’s reaction/dialogue to Obama’s Speech after the jump
