RTB mainstay, Supernatural, freestyles the whole ‘09 lineup at the Key Club in LA. Pretty impressive – the freestyle, not the lineup. I don’t think Rock The Bells can outdo the year with Rage Against The Machine. Maybe I’m just getting old and stingy with my time and money. So… for the now 10 people that read our site, you know that I was playing host to Rosenberg this weekend. A gentleman and great DJ – that Rosenberg is. Alot of our talks were about either girls, hip-hop, food, and/or hoe-ass marks. One of the hip-hop discussions that we talked about while driving through the Bay was Jay Electronica. I let Peter know that I’ve been on the fence about him. I was put-off by the video of his first live performance but his production on “Queens Get The Money” changed my world. So although I couldn’t accept Peter’s invitation to go to Rock The Bells b/c of a wedding, I did meet up with him at the Afterparty. It was there that Jay put on a small set and I must say, like Rosenberg, I can co-sign for the dude. He’s the truth. Little rough around the edges but I can see him being great very soon. FRANCHISE EDIT: A memorable night to say the least. We had the unique opportunity to work with the most unprofessional, drunk, ego-driven, unskilled Promoter (slash wannabe DJ) in my experience. I’ll let Peter tell the story one day. I’ve included my pics as well. Thanks for the fans who showed up and a shout out to Kidz in the Hall who made an appearance.

Jay-Z & Nas trump Tribe’s reunion at Rock The Bells in NY this weekend. I heard Mos Def sucked but represented with Talib at least. Props to TSS, Miss Info, and H.E.R. for the vids.
The lineup for Rock the Bells has been announced. Tribe is reuniting for this event. Hope Phife is in good health to perform. He wasn’t looking that great the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors last year. Looks solid, as it always is, but not as spectacular as last year’s. Full roster and tour dates after the jump…
My boy KG (Mayor of San Diego and LB) is a legend in his respective cities. He knows way too many people and often gets into some crazy sh!t on his weekends and trips. Unlike most of us who deny that’s them in the evidence/pictures posted on myspace, KG takes pride in his learnings from these events. So enjoy a weekly dose of what KG learned:
THINGS I LEARNED FROM ROCK THE BELLS
1. I don’t know if I can stand for that long ever again. that shit was rough son!
2. Sneaking in like you are VIP in certain areas is dope.

4. Bring water bottles to the pit so if u have to pee… u can go in the water bottle… GOOD IDEA.
5. A girl thinking that bottle is gatorade and taking gulps of piss….BAD IDEA.

7. Rage Against the Machine was everything I thought it was gonna be.
8. I can take knee to the temple and still stand.
9. Apparently a hot chick rubbing her hot sweaty tits in your face while crowd surfin’ still gets laughs at the office.
10. Flavor Flav is a funny character.
11. Having 2 stages sucked ass.
12. Bring a pillow so that you can take a nap in the bed of your truck… another GOOD IDEA.
13. You should never have to wait an hour for taco bell food. wtf!
