Saigon & Lil Fame - World War 4 (Rosenberg presents…)

So, if you were in SF for the Rock The Bells pre-party in August and just happened to be there for sound check - you heard Rosenberg banging out this new EP he put together with his producer Oddisee.  Since, I got a good listening to it I can say its a really solid EP and people should check for it - esp the Daytona and Nikki Jean joints.  Here’s what Rosenberg has to say about it:

  • A week from tomorrow, I am dropping “A Rosenberg Oddisee”, six song EP recorded in one day and produced entirely by my man Oddisee. This is the first record I wanted people to hear. Saigon absolutely murders this track and Lil Fame showing up was completely random. It was truly hip hop magic and don’t you worry–it was all captured on video (more on that later). The EP features tracks from Buckshot, Skyzoo, Nikki Jean, and more. It is honestly one of the best hip hop EPs I’ve ever heard. I know I’m talking mad sh*t, but I absolutely LOVE this record. And those of you unfamiliar with Oddisee–GET FAMILIAR!

Just Bleezy Interview

HipHopGame gave a really long interview with Just Blaze. (Via Spine) Hear what he has to say about a million topics but most specifically Jay-Z and Saigon’s albums. By the way, did anyone ever find out what happened to megatrondon.com? Read to find out. He’s like the Bobby Fischer of the rap game. Full interview after the jump…

The Party Life…

This year has been a great year for shows for me with seeing Nas, Wu, and Rage live. Tuesday night, I flew down from SF to LA to see Jay-Z at the HOB for the concert that would prob the best solo performance I have ever seen. The event was live and Jay ripped through classic after classic - even the new stuff people were rhyming word for word. The crowd was in it the whole time and easily threw up the Diamond. He did start a verse or 2 early, but the small glitches didn’t mess up the show. Only low point was the wack DJ before Jay-Z came on. My ipod would have done better mixing and song selection (i.e. he played Soulja Boy and the crowd winced). My brother ripped off his chain when PSA came on and my Jordan 3s were wrecked - that’s what type of party it was. High points were definitely PSA, What We Do (with Free and Beans on stage), and Roc Boys (cameos by Diddy and JD). If you want to know the vibe of the night, rent Fade to Black. Check MTV for a good summary of the night. PS - Dan mad-dogged Mike Tyson and lived to talk about it.

Bonus: Saigon - Come On Baby (remix feat. Jay-Z)

Other Hova News (via Nah Riight): With the Help of Scion, Jay just acquired Artful Dodger - one of my fav brands. My man…
