DJ Jazzy Jeff – Spinning at Butterfly (SF)

While I was out taking care of business in LA this weekend, DJ Jazzy Jeff (my DJ idol) made a two-night trip to San Francisco at Butterfly. I heard both nights were a smash. Unfortunately, Skillz wasn’t Jeff’s hypeman this time around due to some health issues this past weekend (no MCA). But, I think he is up and at ‘em again as of today.

Luckily, since I wasn’t there – the partner BMUSE stepped through for the gootage.  Thanks, B! Speaking of footage, if anyone found my cameras at La Cita on Thursday night, please let me know.  I would like them back.

Wale – Live at Mezzanine 1/09 (San Francisco)

wale

Taking a break from this Lil’ Wayne conversation, here is the live audio from Wale’s show at the Mezzanine last weekend.  I wish I was there but I was celebrating the 1-year anniversary my monthly party at Sugar Lounge.  However, Wale and crew were so kind to plug into the engineer board and recorded the show for his fans.  Word is that Wale went to some of the strip clubs on Broadway and was very UNIMPRESSED with the caliber of female entertainment in the city.  Word to the wise, SF is not the place to be for good strip clubs – so says Wale.  Setlist after the jump. Props to elitaste and IATWL.

Goapele – Change is gonna come/Find a Way (live)

Finally got around to uploading and posting some videos I’ve had of Goapele performing at the Mezzanine in San Francisco. This was at an Obama Fundraiser last month that I was the house DJ for. Really good times and energy. Also gotta chance to meet and hang-out with Zion-I, DJ Shortkut, and Goapele. All three were very cool peeps. Anyways, hope you enjoy it and peep a video of her performing “Closer” after the jump. And by the way, she has her hair pulled back to sidebraids and no she did not shave her head.

That Just Happened! /Now what?

Today I find it is hard for me to report something different than what is already being reported in the media. I suppose what is best is to just share with you my personal experience from last night, and then invite everyone to do the same. I want to know your election experience, feelings, perspective and anecdotes. Please post your stories via the comment thread, or email me and I will post the best stories separately.
