Five Minutes of ‘Batman: Gotham Knight’!

Batman excitement is heating up. Here are five minutes from the straight to dvd release of “Batman: Gotham Knight.” Even this anime looks dope. Can’t wait for either movie.

dj assault, Assaults dj funk

From music message board: “speaking of djs, i saw dj assault + dj funk at primavera last week. for those who dont know, they are pretty much the biggest names in ghettotech. alan braxe (who co-produced ‘the music sounds better with you’) was overrunning by about 10 minutes after several requests by dj assault to cut the record. alan braxe continued to ignore him, so dj assault walks over, pushes him into a speaker stack, and then grabs the mic and shouts “IM FROM DETROIT HOMEBOY”. the crowd cheers, onstage scuffle ensues, and then assault comes back and drops some 150bpm techno with songs about licking pussy over the top.”

Don’t Touch Me Now (Video)

This just made my morning. Old bus-a-bus flavor. I’ve watched it 3X in a row now. Dan, you have to see this. Makes my heart smile to see Spliff and Bus together again. I told you were sleeping on it. (Source: NR)

Nelly - Party People (Feat. Fergie)

I don’t really know how I feel about Nelly. Well since we haven’t really heard from him since his last song. Whatever it was. I am glad that his cousin is out of jail, cause i was tired of that damn band-aid. But here is the latest video from him, featuring fergalicious. We actually get to hear fergie’s real voice in this song.

Love in this club…

Sorry for the delay between posts. I have been partially recovering from Vegas, partially distracted by Usher’s new/old song. I say old b/c anyone with Garageband has already made this beat on their Mac. But its so damn hummable! (nh) I think its going to replace “Dey Know” as my new guilty pleasure song.

The Mundy Breakdown

Matt Mundy, guest contributor to TSS, gives an insightful breakdown of the “Speedin’” and “I’m So Hood Remix” videos. They both share odd cameos, Khaled and Ross. And to be honest, its my hate for DJ Khaled that really sparked my interest in what Mundy had to say and I was not disappointed. “We make movies” and “We the best” are prob the most ignorant quotes of the past decade for hip-hop. But I gotta admit, I do a pretty good, 3-minute imitation of Khaled when I have a few coronas in me. So click and enjoy!

The Roots - Get Busy (Video)

The Roots are creating a strong buzz for this new album. Cordero gave this one an ill look and now everybody is gong to be wanting an afro pick flash drive. Questo is wildin’ and its cool to see Peedi rapping versus complaining. Stick to what he is better at. Onsmash and Nah Right were the source.

We are the L (what!), the O (what!), the N (what!), the S (What!)

Leaders of the New were a group I idolized as young hip-hop fan. They had energy, charisma, differing personalities. I remember trying to figure out what MC I was like from the crew, in the same way you would try to decide which GI Joe character you acted most like. Oh Word put up an impressive post of their remixes, videos, and interviews. Although they disbanded after 2 albums and went on to solo ventures, their group flow/energy still stands in the standard as Wu, Naughty, and Brand Nubian. As you read this, I am downloading all the songs I had on my cassette singles but never on CD.
