My homegirl Carla texted me this morning the exact moment that she was listening to NPR today and then heard them do a report on Wu. Crazy… NPR they breaks it down, Charlie Rose style on the beginnings and business side of Wu. I am sure you will enjoy the listen. The video above is rare video of RZA and ODB at their best.
“So what’s like, I mean what’s like your ultimate goal in this industry?”
Meth: “Domination baby, fuck that”
Raekwon: ” Can I say this one? can I say this one?
Right now, right now, we still, we still
Feel like we ain’t get what we want yet
When we get, when we get, when we get a little props
And really really get the way we gotta go?
That’s when you know it’s on?
You know what I’m sayin
Cuz right about now, I ain’t braggin or nothin
But yo the Wu, the Wu got somethin that I know that everybody wanna hear.
Cuz I know I’ve been waitin to hear
You know what I’m sayin?
But straight up and down, till we get the goal
We gon’ keep goin
Ghost: “We ain’t tryin to hop in and hop out right quick?
Know what I’m sayin?
We out for the Gusto and we gon keep it raw
You know what I’m sayin…”

So… RZA is saying that he is unsure that they will ever make an album together again. He says Wu-Tang is forever but business with his clanmates is done. So, much like G at Grandgood, I ask “if they never record again, are they still a group?” Are there other groups that never make a record again but still a group? Fugees? Gangstarr? I don’t know…. Swiped from GG via ProHH. Full interview after the jump…
**UPDATE: Metal Lungies surprised me with a dope interview with Meth (lucky bastards). Meth claims “Wu is still tight” but didn’t even know that RZA dropped a new album. Go there for the interview.

“You Can’t Stop Me Now,” from the RZA’s upcoming Bobby Digital release, Digi Snax, describes how the beat mastermind moved from street crime to sampling, finally becoming famous alongside the Wu-Tang Clan in 1993. What fifteen year old accomplishments have to do with our ability to stop him today is left unclear.
Bad boy ODB, badder than leeroy brown badder than you and me. I first saw ODB on MTV News, Tabitha Soren was interviewing him and he went to the welfare office to pickup some checks. I was 15, It was the greatest moment of my life. I went out and bought my first wu-tang CD the very next day. Read the rest of this entry »

You can stream rza’s new song, “You Can’t Stop Us Now” on his myspace page now. Or you could just download it here. This song was listed as a track on his leaked new album, but never actually appeared on the leaked album. HUH? Well here it is now.
Its a good listen, don’t let this pass you by.
If you don’t have The Roots, “Birthday Girl” in mp3 format, get it here. Fall out boy is terrible thought.
