David Simon working on “Manhunt”
David Simon likes to do what he wants. Cases in point – Generation Kill and now Manhunt. Ripped from IGN:
“The Wire creator David Simon is looking for Abraham Lincoln’s killer. The Hollywood Reporter says Simon may reunite with Tom Fontana, who he worked with on Homicide: Life on the Street, for a new HBO miniseries based on James L. Swanson’s book Manhunt – The book follows the frantic 12 day search for John Wilkes Booth, the man who shot and killed Abraham Lincoln.
The Reporter says the story would focus on less-known historical figures who were involved in the media frenzy surrounding the situation and the manhunt itself. Simon and Fontana will write the screenplay for the project, which is in the early stages of development.”
